Claim your right to be the Christ on earth

Ascended Master Jesus, May 28, 2006 through Kim Michaels.

And thus, I leave you to contemplate the need to claim your right to have Christ rise in your being while you are still in a physical body. To claim your God Power, to claim your right to manifest your individual Christhood and to manifest the community of the Holy Spirit. For I tell you, for many of you, the only thing that stands between your current step on the path and the victory of being the open door for the Living Christ is that you must claim your Christhood, claim your God Power, your God Wisdom, your God Love, your God Purity, your God Truth, your God Peace and your God Freedom—and claim your right to be the Christ on all seven rays.

So contemplate this in your heart of hearts when you are alone, and be willing to claim that Christhood. And thus I invite you to stand now with me here and claim your Christhood silently or aloud: “In the name of the I AM THAT I AM Jesus Christ I claim my right to be the Christ in embodiment and be the Christ on all seven rays.”

My Beloved hearts, thank you for your willingness to claim that Christhood—even if you did it tentatively. Practice makes perfect, and it might take some reaffirming before you feel that you can claim it with all of your beings. Yet if you never start, if you never dare to claim that Christhood, how can you build that momentum that leads to the full declaration and the full acceptance. Thus, I seal you in my heart’s unconditional love for each and every one of you. My Beloved, be at peace in the love of Christ. It is finished.

Why a simple teaching is better than a “sophisticated” one

Ascended Master Jesus, December 25, 2005 through Kim Michaels.

So what is the key to overcoming this problem? Well, it is to realize that if you want to grow beyond a certain point, you must raise your motivation for following the path. You must learn to recognize that your ego is self-centered and that your ego is very good at using a spiritual teaching in order to make it seem like it is such an advanced student. You must learn to unmask this in yourself and then, instead of feeling guilty, instead of coming down on yourself, you simply realize, “Oh but this is just the ego playing its games, and I am more than the ego, and I want to come up higher. I want to really take my spiritual growth to the higher level that Jesus demonstrated.”

And in order to take your growth to that higher level, you must enter into the sense of oneness with all life here below and realize that you need to use what you have internalized in order to help others. Only when you give out what you have received in the time you have followed the spiritual path, will you take your growth to the next level. Because it is only then that you multiply your talents.

Do you see, my beloved, that my parable about the talents is so fruitful and vast and has so many meanings and interpretations. And one of them is that when you are following the spiritual path based on the self-centered motivation, seeking to raise up yourself only, there will come a point where your growth stops and you have now buried your talents in the ground. Only when you raise yourself above that point, will you multiply your talents. And only then can God multiply your own light, your own growth, and take you to that higher level.

Simplicity is not so simple

This is the most essential teaching that you could possibly internalize about the spiritual path. My Beloved hearts, I see so many people who find the teachings I have given. They find the website, they find a book, they start reading here and there. And the people I am talking about whose growth has come to a halt, almost all of them have the same reaction, “Oh but I already know all of this. And I have found even more advanced teachings, that give me a far more advanced intellectual understanding of the path and the spiritual reality. This is too simple for me.” And so they move on.

Yet I must tell you that no other teaching has exposed the very core of the spiritual path with such directness and such simplicity. And what is the effect of the simplicity? Ah my beloved, simplicity is not nearly as simple as you might think. For truly, that which appears simple, appears simple only to the ego, to the intellect, to the outer mind. And it appears simple because the ego and the intellect cannot do what they always seek to do, which is to interpret a teaching in such a way that it makes them seem so advanced because they can understand this teaching.

There is a danger for those who have followed the spiritual path for a long time but have not truly entered into the inner path of oneness. They seek, inevitably, a higher and higher teaching just as an addict seeks a greater and greater fix. And they think that in order to find the higher teaching, it has to be something that is difficult to understand, because the ego and the intellect reason that the more difficult it is to understand, the more advanced it must be. They become almost addicted to seeking spiritual teachings, and they overlook the very pearls that are so simple that the ego cannot manipulate and misinterpret it because there is no room for misinterpretation—if you are willing to look at the teaching and truly listen to what it says.

My Beloved hearts, be not as the lawyers. And if you have been caught in the pattern of being a lawyer, then be willing to look in the mirror and say, “This is not why I have striven for these many years. I have not put forth so much effort on the spiritual path in order to end up as the lawyers who rejected the Living Christ. I must change my motivation, I must raise my motivation, I must come up higher. I must look beyond the ego itself, the self-centeredness, for I will have no part of it anymore. I am disgusted with that selfishness, that self-centeredness, I am disgusted with the ego’s incessant attempts to elevate itself above others. I want to find the true path that Jesus and the Buddha and all other teachers have demonstrated. I want to look at Mother Teresa who lived an entire life of selflessness, I want to look at Jesus, Mahatma Gandhi, the Buddha and other great examples of people who lived a life of selfless service. This is what I want and I am willing to be reborn and to rethink every aspect of my approach to the spiritual path in order to really come up to that level of selflessness and service to all life.”

Be willing to let Jesus disturb you

Ascended Master Jesus, October 23, 2005 through Kim Michaels.

Truly, those who are not willing to be disturbed are not my true followers. And I must tell you that this very messenger once had a discussion with a Lutheran priest who believed in sincerity that when I came to call my disciples and said, “Leave your nets, I will make you fishers of men,” they did not instantly leave their nets and follow me. “Oh,” the priest said, “they must have had a least a year to put their things in order and prepare to follow Christ.”

But you see, my beloved, my mission was only a total of three years. There was no time for my disciples to take care of their worldly business. I must tell you that when I called my disciples, I literally walked up to them – they had never seen me before – and I looked them straight in the eye and I said, “Leave your nets and follow me,” and I turned around and walked away. And those who did not follow me straight away did not become my disciples, for that was the law at that point in time.

And although the requirements have been slackened somewhat – because back then I had only three years and now we are in a more ongoing cycle – I must tell you that although you can take some time to step on to the inner path of Christhood, you cannot take forever. There must come a point where you are willing to say, “Enough is enough! I have had enough with that ego, and it is time that I step on to the true path.”

When that time comes for you individually, you need to be alert, you need to be aware, because truly your Christ self, myself, or another ascended master will appear to you at inner levels. And you need to be open to hearing our voice. And if you have the attachment to an outer teaching or organization, you will reject us when we come to you.

Do not reject the teacher

Imagine what would have happened if Mother Mary had rejected the angel when he came and told her that she was to give birth to the Christ child. What if she had said, “I don’t believe you are real. I am perfectly happy living in my monastery. Leave me alone.” Oh my beloved, then I would not have been born, would I? So if I come to you and say, “The Christ is ready to be born in your heart,” and you say, “Leave me alone, I am comfortable,” then the Christ will not be born in your heart. And thus, the second coming will not occur on planet earth. For it will take ten thousand people who are willing to let the Christ be born in their hearts to bring about that second coming that is the fulfillment of the cycle of Pisces and therefore the open door to the Golden Age of Aquarius.

It is time to step up to the plate and be on the inner path, and throw away and leave behind anything that has become a net that no longer catches fish but catches you and holds you back from plunging yourself into the River of Life. I am come that all might have life and that they might have it more abundantly. But it does not mean that I, Jesus, will appear in the sky and let the abundant life rain upon you from heaven. Having the abundant life means being in the abundant state of consciousness. And that state of consciousness is perpetual self-transcendence. Truly, there is nothing else. There is no substitute for self-transcendence.

Don’t disturb me, Jesus

Ascended Master Jesus, August 19, 2003 through Kim Michaels.

I see some of our best students who have been on the path for decades. They sit there in their churches and they follow their rituals. And they give wonderful prayers, and their heart flames are poured into those prayers. But when I approach them they say, “I have everything I need to be saved. I am comfortable. I am happy following the teachings I have been given.”

And from an outer perspective, this sounds all right and well because after all they have their free will. But I tell you truly that what the soul is saying is, “Don’t disturb me Jesus. I am comfortable. I am comfortable where I am, and I do not want to come up higher. I have made many sacrifices during my discipleship. I have faced many tests, many initiations. I have sacrificed. I have given all. But now, I don’t want to give anymore. I just want to sit here with my teachings and my rituals and feel that as long as I keep doing what I am comfortable doing for the rest of my life, I will automatically be saved.”

I tell you truly that many members of Christian churches and other spiritual organizations sit there and feel they have the highest spiritual teaching on the planet, yet I tell you, they are following the way that seems right unto a man but the end thereof is the way of death. They are following the outer path as so many other billions of souls on planet earth are following it.

Too many souls are sitting in their churches saying, “But the Catholic Church is the only true Church of Jesus Christ. Our Church is true. Islam is the only religion. We have everything we need to win our salvation and we just need to stay here and be comfortable and we will automatically make it.”

Do you not see what I am saying here? You think you are better than everybody else because you have your teaching and Church. And everybody else thinks they are better than everybody else because they have their teachings. Well I tell you truly that there are billions of souls on this planet who are so wrapped up in the false teachings and the lies of the false teachers that they are literally like corpses wrapped in the burial cloth.

I am Jesus Christ. I have been given the office by God to be the savior for every soul on planet earth. And I say to you now as I said to Lazarus, “Come forth! Awaken! Come forth out of the tomb of the false teachings and their wares and their outer path and their lies. Come forth and disentangle yourself from the nets they have cast to catch you, to bind you to the false path.”

Starting the mystical path

The mystical path or the path to Christhood is very different from both traditional religions and many of the offerings in the New Age field. The main difference is that the mystical path is an inner path.

It is not a matter of studying outer teachings or performing certain practices and then somehow, magically, you will find yourself with superhuman powers. It is a matter of transforming your state of consciousness in a fundamental way, a transformation so profound that we cannot even imagine it when we start the path. This means you must be willing to look at yourself, to look into the subconscious mind.

You cannot force yourself to start the mystical path. It is something you have to be ready for, and most people feel intuitively when they are ready. However, it still takes a conscious decision to engage in the path, and the articles listed below will help you gain a clearer vision of what the path is about.

This section contains articles on the following topics:

Don’t disturb me, Jesus

  • Many people get comfortable on the spiritual path and do not want to be disturbed.
  • Some think they are better than others because they have a superior teaching or guru.
  • Jesus calls us to come out of this state and be willing to follow the inner path.

Read more about this.

Be willing to let Jesus disturb you

  • You cannot take forever to step onto the path of Christhood.
  • The path is so far beyond a normal, material lifestyle that you must be willing to let Jesus disturb you.
  • You need to sense when it is time for you to get serious about the path.
  • If you are not alert and willing to be disturbed, you might reject the teacher who comes in disguise.
  • We must leave our nets or be caught in them.

Read more about this.

Why a simple teaching is better than a “sophisticated” one

  • Your ego is very good at using a spiritual teaching in order to make it seem like it is such an advanced student.
  • You need to use what you have internalized in order to help others.
  • When you are following the spiritual path based on the self-centered motivation there will come a point where your growth stops.
  • Some people think the teachings are too simple and don’t apply to them.
  • The ego wants to interpret a teaching in such a way that it makes it seem so advanced because it can understand this teaching.
  • The ego reasons that the more difficult it is to understand a teaching, the more advanced it must be.
  • Some people become almost addicted to seeking ever-more sophisticated spiritual teachings.
  • Overcome the ego’s incessant attempts to elevate itself above others.

Read more about this.

Claim your right to be the Christ on earth

  • For many people, the only thing that stands between your current step on the path and the victory of being the open door for the Living Christ is that you must claim your Christhood.
  • Practice makes perfect, and it might take some reaffirming before you feel that you can claim it with all of your being.

Read more about this.

Fearing to meet the master

  • Many people are satisfied with the outer teachings of Christ and there is no room in their hearts for an encounter with the Living Christ.
  • They are afraid of the Living master, who would appear to them and speak to them in their hearts.
  • Realize the difference between wanting only an outer teaching or wanting an encounter with a living master.
  • Service might mean dramatic changes in your life. There are so many times, where you cannot serve to your full capacity in the circumstances you are in right now.
  • Be willing to walk into the unknown, to take one step at a time.
  • Be willing to make those seismic shifts in your life that will put you on the path of your service.

Read more about this.

The path begins when you are willing to change your reaction

  • When you have not taken responsibility for yourself, you are not willing to question your current level of consciousness, your current perception.
  • The one inescapable realization that you must come to before you can be a personal student of the ascended masters is that everything in the world of form is an expression of consciousness.
  • The beginning of the spiritual path is when one comes to the point where one is willing to question the perception that what you perceive in the material universe is real, meaning that it exists independently of consciousness.
  • Accelerate your reaction, so that you are not forced into a negative reaction by certain circumstances.
  • How to stop reacting to the reflection of your own previous reactions.
  • How to make truly free choices and act instead of reacting.

Read more about this.

The difficulty of grasping the purpose of the spiritual path

  • Some people have studied ascended master teachings for two or three or four decades, and yet they have not understood the essence of the path.
  • The view of initiation that most people have, when they find an ascended master teaching, is actually a view that is based on the false path created by the false teachers.
  • The false path allows you to hide something. The true path is where you cannot hide anything for the teacher.
  • The one and only key to entry into the ascended realm is your state of consciousness, and you are the only one who can change your state of consciousness.

Read more about this.

The limitations of “feel-good spirituality”

  • It is a deliberate strategy of the false hierarchy to flood the internet with spiritual teachings.
  • “Feel-good spirituality,” is a delay factor to the plans of the ascended masters.
  • It causes many people to delay or deny their Christhood, the point of becoming open doors for the light.

Read more about this.

Unworthiness comes from pride

  • God wants all of us to overcome any sense of being unworthy.
  • The sense of being unworthy comes from pride.
  • God created you worthy and when you judge yourself as unworthy, you say you know better than God. This is pride.
  • We all have the potential to manifest Christhood by transforming our consciousness.
  • The truth behind “No pain, no gain.”
  • If we open ourselves to the intense light of Christ, it can burn away both inferiority and superiority.
  • We can learn from Mother Mary’s life.
  • We each have a Divine plan and we need Christ consciousness to fulfill it.

The false quest for status and false self-esteem

Ascended Master Maitreya, January 8, 2011 through Kim Michaels.

And what is then the worldview that you have, when you follow the path of the false teachers? It is the worldview that you have a value, a status, that is dependent upon the outer initiations that you have followed on this false path.

Think of how a person who has a diploma as a doctor or architect instantly gains a certain status in society. People with a diploma can sometimes get a job even if their personal psychology makes them completely unsuited for that job. Yet in many cases, the diploma is enough—and only later does the employer or co-workers find out how completely unsuited the person is because of his or her human qualities, or lack of qualities.

This then, is what you build when you follow the false path. You build a self-esteem based on your outer accomplishments, your knowledge, your understanding. Yet what most spiritual students do not realize is that even though it is the false path that allows you to build this self-esteem, it is also the false path that requires you to build this self-esteem. For the false path cannot give you true self-esteem, because you cannot acquire true self-esteem as long as there is something in your own being that you are not willing to look at. That which you are not willing to look at, prevents you from seeing through your own being, until you can see through the nexus of pure awareness and project yourself into oneness with your Presence—so that you can see yourself as your Presence sees you.

Seeing yourself as your Presence sees you is the one and only source of true self-esteem. For it is beyond anything on earth. So when you are not willing to project yourself into oneness with Maitreya or oneness with the Presence, then you cannot have true self-esteem. The Serpents know this, so they very cleverly offer you an alternative. But once you begin to even consider that alternative, you will be very softly pulled into accepting not only the seemingly beneficial aspect of the false path, but also the clearly dysfunctional aspect.

For the entire idea of the false path is, of course, that there is an outer standard, a standard that can be defined on earth, which will determine your entry into heaven. And this means that those who live up to the standard will be accepted into heaven, whereas those who do not live up to the standard will not be accepted—and therefore would either have to stay on earth or will burn forever in some fiery hell. And so, not only does the false path prevent you from achieving true self-esteem, but it also gives you the urgency that you need to avoid this terrible fate of burning in hell. And this makes it even more urgent that you build the false self-esteem by living up to the outer requirements.

The false path of initiation under the Serpents

Ascended Master Maitreya, January 8, 2011 through Kim Michaels.

What have we said in previous dictations in this series? The doorway to the ascended realm is the open door which no man can shut. How do you enter the open door to heaven? By you becoming the open door.

Do you see what this means? There are no conditions that determine whether you can walk through the doorway to heaven, there are no conditions you need to fulfill in order to walk through that door.

In order to walk through the door, you need to overcome all conditions in your own mind, so that you are the open door. My Beloved, what is an open door? Is it not a door that is transparent, meaning that you can look through the open door and you can see what is on the other side of the door—without your vision being obstructed by anything or colored by anything. So what will it take for you to become the open door? Well, will it not take that you remove anything in your own being that will obstruct or color the light of God and thus prevent yourself or others from looking through you and seeing what is on the other side of the door that leads to the ascended realm.

And how can you remove the conditions in your being that obstruct or obscure the light? Well, you can remove them only when you are willing to look at them. For guess who put those conditions into your own mind and being? It was not Maitreya, and neither was it the Serpent—or the devil, or Satan, or the prince of this world, or your aunt Agatha, or anyone else. It was YOU, my beloved.

This is not a judgment against you. This does not mean that I blame you.

On the contrary, it means that I empower you. For what is it that has happened as you have started to believe in the illusions of the Serpent? Well, you have actually walked a path of initiation under the Serpents, the false teachers. Yet instead of walking the path of initiation that helps you gradually remove the conditions from your being, you have walked a path of initiation that has increased your skill in justifying these conditions.

Of course, this false path is not subject to the same laws as the true path. The false path is subject to the law of karma, to the law of action and reaction, and to what we have called the second law of thermodynamics. So what happens is that when you accept that there are certain things in your consciousness that you want to hide, then it is inevitable that you project mental or psychic energy through those conditions into the cosmic mirror.

And what will the cosmic mirror do? It will mirror back to you conditions in the material world that reflect what you are not willing to look at. Only, of course, these conditions will not entirely confirm the belief that you are not willing to question, and therefore the conditions you encounter in the material realm will somewhat challenge your worldview, will somewhat challenge the initial illusion that you accepted from the Serpent.

Comparing your beliefs to observations of reality

You see, the Serpent can only offer you illusions. They are clever illusions, they often contain some degree of truth, but in the end the second law of thermodynamics will ensure that they will be challenged. This, then, is your opportunity to say that if the material world challenges my belief, does it mean that my belief is not correct, that it is out of touch with reality? This, for example, was the initiation that the Catholic community faced during the Middle Ages, when the first scientists came up with the observations that contradicted the Catholic doctrine that the earth was the center of the universe, with the sun and all the other planets moving around it.

They had the opportunity to compare their beliefs to observations of reality, and thereby take the approach taken by any practical realist, which is that if my beliefs contradict my observation of reality, then I must re-examine my beliefs. Yet the path of initiation offered by the Serpents is that when reality challenges your beliefs, you simply change your beliefs, so that you can still justify continuing to to hide while feeling that you still have some superiority or authority in this world. Instead of adjusting your belief to reality, you adjust your belief system so that you can justify ignoring or explaining away reality.

This is what you saw in the Catholic religion. You have seen it in many other religions. You have seen it in political systems. You have seen it in scientific materialism, which even to this day denies the connection between consciousness and your observations in the matter world. Even though science has proven that any observation is influenced by consciousness, materialists will deny it—and so will most religious people. For they do not want to admit what any practical realist will readily admit, namely that perception is not the same as reality—until your mind has become the open door.

For as long as there is something you are seeking to hide, you will have to “see through a glass darkly,” you will have to see through a filter colored by the things you are seeking to hide. And here is a simple illustration of how this works. You know that a kaleidoscope is a tube in which there are several panes of clear material, and in between those panes there are pieces of colored glass. The pieces of colored glass will either color the light coming through or they will, if they are dense enough, completely obscure the light.

So now imagine a kaleidoscope that has completely clear panes of glass as divisions, so that you could see through it unhindered if the kaleidoscope was empty. And this means that if there were no glass pieces in the kaleidoscope, you could see reality as it really is. Yet now you begin to fill glass pieces into the kaleidoscope, and naturally they will either color your view of reality or they will completely obscure certain aspects of what you might otherwise see through the tube.

And so, can you see that when you have certain aspects in your consciousness that you are not willing to look at, then your perception will be affected in such a way that there are certain things you simply cannot see. For you cannot admit that reality contradicts your beliefs. The reason you cannot admit this is that you have decided that there are certain things in yourself that you are not willing to look at. And as long as you uphold that decision to not look at something in yourself, well then you cannot admit when the outside world challenges your worldview.

The false image of salvation as a mechanical process

Ascended Master Jesus, June 28, 2008 through Kim Michaels.

It is a constant burden to my heart, my beloved, to see how the Christian religion – time and time again – has caused wonderful individuals to go into a vibration of fear, guilt or even a sense that they are not allowed to express themselves, thereby voluntarily shutting off the creative flow. It is a great burden to my heart that the Christian religion has portrayed an image of salvation that presents salvation as a mechanical, non-creative process, even as the completely simplistic image, that the key to salvation is the forgiveness of sins, and that the sacrifice of one person being nailed to a cross 2,000 years ago could pay the debt of humankind for all eternity—for all future sins that could be committed by people who are lost in the duality consciousness. This is a mechanical image of salvation, where people are programmed to believe, that living up to outer requirements is enough to open the door to heaven.

Yet, did I not say, in my parable about the wedding feast, that the man who entered without wearing a wedding garment was cast into outer darkness—as a symbol for being stuck in his own ego creation? I will say to you: “Consider the fact that the ego and the false teachers will do anything possible to prevent you from actually rising to the Christ consciousness.” And it will do this by creating the broad way, the false path, that makes you believe that by fulfilling certain outer requirements – such as being baptized, praying, decreeing, meditating, performing yoga or any other exercise, and by believing in a simple belief system – well, then you will mechanically qualify for salvation.

Yet I must tell you, that there is hardly any spiritual movement on this planet that has understood the reality of the path to Christhood, the reality that the path to Christhood is not a mechanical process. It is indeed a creative process, my beloved. Which is why you cannot give a standard definition of how all people should walk that path. It is indeed an individual path, for you have – each one individually – accepted certain illusions that have caused you to shut off your creativity, to shut off the flow of God’s light and love through your being. And therefore, you must individually come to see that these are illusions—and thereby let them go, surrender them, decide to replace them with the truth of Christ.

The path of Christhood versus the path of personal growth

There is an essential difference between the path of Christhood and what I like to call the path of personal growth. There is a time when the two paths are actually parallel, for you do need to grow personally to a certain level, before you have enough awareness to actually embrace the path of Christhood. But there will come a point – an essential turning point – from which you cannot grow further until you look beyond the path of personal growth. Whereby I mean the focus on yourself, even the growth of your own consciousness, and start looking beyond yourself, your separate sense of self and start raising up the All—instead of being only focused on yourself as the separate self, instead of expanding your sense of self to encompass all life.

For that is the Christ consciousness—that you see yourself as all life. You see your greater Self, and therefore you are willing to let God’s creativity flow through you for the purpose of raising up the All instead of raising up the separate self. In a sense, one can say, that it is impossible to give forth a course in Christhood that will be valid for all people. Nevertheless, if I was not prone to take on the seemingly impossible, I would not have volunteered to take embodiment as Jesus and be the hierarch of the Piscean age. And thus, I have indeed endeavored to do the impossible by having this messenger take down teachings that have been put together in a course in Christhood,.

But what I desire to give here is the understanding that this course is not, of course, an end in itself, But it is a first step for those who have walked the path of personal growth to the point, where they are beginning to realize that something is missing. And even with all their focus on raising their consciousness or understanding the spiritual side of life, well then, there is still something missing, they are still feeling unfulfilled. And the reason for this is that you are now ready to step away from the focus on the separate self and expand your sense of self and walk that path of not raising up yourself but raising up your greater Self of the All.

For you are ready to take your insights, to take your experience, to take your momentum and redirect it to working to help other people walk the path, instead of being focused on yourself primarily or exclusively. This then is the culmination of the 2,000-year cycle that I have put into this course. And I can tell you, that no matter what expectations you have about what this course is about, they are unrealistic. And prepare to have them shattered, as you follow the course.

The path of Christhood is not what most people envision, even what most of you – who know more about my inner teachings than most people on this planet – envision, for you still have a grand illusion about what it means to walk the path of Christhood. Because your ego has managed to trick you into thinking, that it means that you become raised to some superior status, whereas in reality it means something entirely different that I will not expose here. But I will tell you, “Prepare, as you study this course, to have your illusions shattered.” And now I will let Saint Germain run with this thought and take it further.

Beyond the outer path

Ascended Master Jesus, April 7, 2007 through Kim Michaels.

By now you are beginning to see the pattern of how the scribes and Pharisees were always objecting to the Living Word, brought forth by me as the Living Christ. This, my beloved, is a pattern that by no means is limited to the scribes and Pharisees, for you see it in every religion, in every civilization, in every spiritual tradition, in every worldly tradition.

What is the essence of this pattern? Well, it is precisely that the ego is trying to build up the outer appearance that it is acceptable in the eyes of God because it is living up to all these outer conditions. When people are blinded by the ego, they identify with the ego, they are attached to the outer tradition they have created—the outer tradition that says they are saved because of the outer things they do.

Many are ready to go beyond the outer path

I am not bringing this up to necessarily find fault with those who are attached to outer tradition. For, as a realistic spiritual teacher, I know that there are people on this planet who are still very much like children, and who need to still be in an outer organization, an outer Church, where they can believe that by belonging to that Church and following a few simple rules, they will be saved. There are literally people, a certain portion of the population on earth, who have that legitimate need. And as a spiritual teacher I do not expect them to rise out of that need in one lifetime.

Yet, I can also tell you that there is a large group of people on this planet – in this day and age – who are ready to leave that entire mindset behind—but who have not yet done so, partly because they have never been taught. But why have they never been taught? Because they have not so far been open to the teaching. And that is why the eternal spiritual law cannot take effect for them. For is not the law very clear? When the student is ready, the teacher appears. Or should I say, my beloved, when the student is willing, the teacher appears? For until the student is willing to hear the Living Word of the teacher, what is the point of the teacher appearing?

Well, there is indeed a point, and that is why I came to earth. And the point is that the teacher can awaken people from their sleep and shake them out of their comfortability. There comes that point, as I talked about yesterday, where there is a gap between the outer person, the outer personality, the outer mind, and the inner being of the person. You have a large percentage of people on this planet who at inner levels are ready to step up to truly understand what the spiritual path is about, but their outer minds are not ready. For their outer minds are still too controlled by their egos. And the people do not understand the ego, and thus do not understand the need to separate themselves from it.

What is a teacher to do? Is he going to sit around passively and wait until the people wake up by themselves? Or is he going to say, “But at inner levels they are ready, so I will go down in a form they can see, in a form they cannot ignore, in a form they cannot deny, and I will do my best to awaken them to the inner reality for which they are ready.” This is the true motivation behind all true spiritual teachers who have ever come to this planet—to awaken those who are ready, so that they can snap out of the outer mind and truly be awakened to the inner reality of who they are.

Following the true, inner path of Christ

Ascended Master Jesus, October 23, 2005 through Kim Michaels.

I am the Living Christ. I am always becoming more. For I love my God, and I want to experience all that God is. And I see that God is always becoming more. And thus, if I truly love God, how could I not become more in order to keep up with God’s self-transcendence and therefore experience all that God is at any given moment?

I am come to give people life and to give it to them more abundantly. And what does that truly mean? It means that the Living Christ always seeks to get you to leave your nets of entanglements with your current sense of identity – your current beliefs about the world, about God, about the spiritual path, about the ascended masters – so that you can come into oneness with us and therefore flow with us in that moving River of Life that truly is the abundant life.

And thus, I must tell you that it never has been the goal of the representatives of the Living Christ to bring forth any outer teaching that is absolutely true, that is infallible or that could never be expanded upon or replaced by a higher teaching. This has never – ever – been our intent. And watch your analytical minds who will say, “Well there must be some truth that is absolute and infallible.” And I tell you, there truly is a truth that is absolute and infallible, and it is the absolute, ever self-transcending Living Truth of God. And that truth can never be expressed in words or images in this world of form because it is beyond form. It is beyond anything that was created.

And thus, you must realize that it is entirely possible that two religions can have beliefs that seem to contradict each other, yet both of them were given by the ascended masters. And why do we give beliefs that seem to contradict each other? Well, we do it precisely because our goal with a particular religion is to address people in a specific state of consciousness and help them come to a higher level, help them come out of that state of consciousness, so that they become more and thereby get back in touch with the ongoing River of Life.
