If we truly want to know Jesus or Christ, we need to acknowledge that Jesus is a spiritual being and as such is beyond all man-made images. People need security and this causes them to create fixed (graven) images of Jesus. The only way to know the real Jesus is to attune our consciousness to his ever-transcending being.
