General questions about human relationships.

Is it true that like attracts like?
We see the failure of most love relationships. Why is there such a massive failure and what principles may relationships in the new age be based on?
I read on one of the websites that we often find people attractive physically, or emotionally, or spiritually or intellectually because we have perhaps karma to balance with that person. Can a person who very rarely feels a level of attraction sufficient to enter into a relationship with someone reasonably assume they have balanced all of their karma, or might they just be really picky?
I have been through different understandings concerning children, raising, correction and or punishment. The Old Testament of the Bible supports the rod or physical punishment, I can't find anything in the New Testament. What is your teaching on these subjects?

Two questions about how to deal with negative people and whether to avoid them or give them love.
I know it is my responsibility to forgive and pray for people who do harm to me, so is it spiritually acceptable to file charges against people who are discriminating and harassing one in the work place?
Is it possible to pursue one's personal christhood and still get married and raise a family?
Why oh why did God create in-laws???
How can one distinguish whether or not they are receiving returning karma in an abusive relationship?
Why do some children turn out bad regardless all the care, religious and moral teachings and love they have received in their lives?
