from Jesus:
In a sense you are right. The illusion of separation springs from the
duality consciousness, the carnal mind. So as long as you create based
on the dualistic visions of that mind, you are only reinforcing and
adding to the illusion. That is why I said:
22 The light of
the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body
shall be full of light.
23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness.
If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great [is]
that darkness! (Matthew, Chapter 6)
The “evil eye”
is a metaphor for the duality consciousness. The “single eye”
is a metaphor for the unified vision of the Christ mind, through which
you see yourself as being one with God. Only then can you be a co-creator
instead of a creator.
Although there is an ultimate limit, there is a long way that a soul
can descend into these self-created illusions of duality. In reality,
Hell is a state of consciousness, a place in consciousness, that is
the ultimate creation of the duality consciousness connected to this
planet. Yet many people in physical embodiment have descended so far
into the duality consciousness that they are essentially creating their
own private Hell right here on Earth.
When you are trapped in duality, you become a self-fulfilling prophecy.
I explain this in greater detail in Save
Yourself, but the essence of the teaching is that the material
universe – with its four levels, as explained elsewhere
– functions as a mirror. Whatever human beings send into the universe,
the cosmic mirror reflects back to them.
So take a soul who has become trapped in the duality consciousness.
Such a soul thinks it is the doer and that it can actually create something
without God and without using God’s energy. The soul thinks it
is creating by using matter and the laws governing matter, and it fails
to see that matter is simply an expression of God’s energy. This
illusion of being the doer is the core effect of the consciousness of
separation.
Because the soul no longer sees itself as part of the whole, and therefore
affected by the laws that govern the whole, the soul might begin to
believe that it is a law unto itself. It might think that it is affected
only by the laws that visibly affect matter. In other words, if it does
not see an immediate negative consequence of its actions, it begins
to think that it can get away with anything. So the soul has one or
several lifetimes in which it seeks earthly power and pleasure without
considering the consequences it has for the whole (of which it is a
part—a fact it does not realize). After a few lifetimes, the soul’s
karma inevitably catches up with it in the form of negative events in
its life.
Suddenly, the soul goes through a rude awakening in which it realizes
that the matter universe will no longer conform to its desires and beliefs.
Yet because of the duality consciousness, the soul fails to draw a cause-effect
connection between its current attitude, its past actions and what is
happening to it right now. And because of the duality consciousness,
the soul cannot accept that it has sown what it is now reaping. Consequently,
someone or something else must be to blame.
Many souls now subscribe to the false image, supplied by many religions,
that God is to blame because he is an angry and punishing deity. The
soul now lives a lifetime being angry at God, constantly sending into
the universe energy that is qualified with the vibrations of fear, anger
and blame. This energy will inevitably be reflected back by the cosmic
mirror, and when that happens, the soul often sees it as proof that
the image of an angry God is correct. The soul’s dualistic world
view has now become a self-fulfilling prophecy that can eventually lead
the soul into the ultimate consciousness of separation from God, namely
what people call Hell.
How can a soul break this downward spiral? Through the faculties of
higher reasoning, that most people call intuition but which is really
your Christ self. You must receive a morsel of Christ truth –
this is my body, which is broken for you – and you must allow
it to raise the vibration of your consciousness until you resonate with
the vibration of truth.
I know it can seem impossible to break the illusion of duality, but
it is not that difficult. Any spiritual seeker has developed his or
her intuitive abilities to some degree. Otherwise, you simply could
not recognize any truth, either on this website or elsewhere. You only
need to continue to sharpen your intuitive faculties by studying spiritual
teachings and practicing spiritual rituals. Yet you can take a major
step by consciously internalizing the truth that there is a reality
beyond the dualistic illusion created by your lower mind and the mass
consciousness.
So use the tools I give on this website and remember my saying, “In
your patience possess ye your souls” (Luke 21:19). By following
the spiritual path, you will gradually break down the walls of illusion,
the walls of Maya, that surround your mind.
As a final thought to ponder, consider the concept that when you create,
you are only adding to the illusion, whereas when you co-create you
are rising above the illusion. Creation implies that you are separated
from God and creating on your own. This is always an illusion because
you are a part of God and no part of God can be apart from God. Co-creation
implies that you know you are using God’s energy and that you
are committed to working within God’s law and overall vision.
That is why I said:
I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and
my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will
of the Father which hath sent me. (John 5:30)
But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and
I work. (John 5:17)
Of course, when you are trapped
in the consciousness of separation, you see God as an external deity,
dictating to you what to do according to his foreign will. When you
overcome duality, you sere that the Father is your I AM Presence, of
which you are an extension. Therefore, the Father's will is not external
but the will of your higher self. Thus, following that will is not a
sacrifice or a restriction of your freedom. It is the supreme joy of
your soul that leads to true creative freedom, meaning a co-creation
that sets you free instead of binding your soul further to the spiral
of duality.
How do you know you have overcome the illusion? By the many little experiences,
often called “Aha” experiences, where you know you have
recognized a higher truth. You will eventually have more dramatic breakthrough
experiences. Yet even such experiences do not necessarily mean you have
permanently transcended the illusion. At the lower levels of the path,
you only have occasional glimpses of a reality beyond the illusion.
In the intermediate stages, you have a mixture of true vision and the
illusion. At the higher stages, you will have more truth than illusion,
and then finally, one day, there is no more illusion.
Believe me, when you are there, you will know it. As long as there is
a question in your mind, you are not there yet. But if you keep moving
forward, you WILL get there. I will be the first to greet you!
